The meeting was opened at 6:30 p.m. with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes of the November 3, 2025 Council Meeting reviewed. Council Member Stewart made a motion to approve the minutes. Council Member Justice seconded the motion. Motion passed with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Council President Flickner acknowledged Senior Ava Woods was in attendance for the Council meeting and wished her well in her future.
RWCDC/MAIN STREET – Sandy Miller reported:
Poinsettias will be ready for pick up on December 5, 2025.
She is working on the annual Main Street Report.
December 19, 2025 will be the next Senior Café held at 5:00 p.m. at Wolcott Christian Church.
The downtown tree lighting went well this year.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
FIRE – Mike Martin not present
A copy of the monthly fire report was presented. A copy is on file in the Office of Clerk-Treasurer.
The pork burger chili lunch will be held at the Fire Station Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
POLICE – John Schuetzenhofer
A copy of the monthly police report was presented. A copy is on file in the Office of Clerk-Treasurer
PARK – Dale Budde reported:
He’s helping vac leaves and plow snow.
STREETS – Don Schuh reported:
He’s been vacuuming leaves and plowing snow.
He hung the Christmas lights in the downtown area with help from Dale Budde, Joshua Longest, and Jonathan Cripe.
UTILITIES – Joshua Longest reported:
Preparations are being made for winter/cold weather.
He’s filling in for Mark who’s using 2025 vacation time.
He’s helping when/as he can with plowing snow and leaf pick-up.
TOWN MANAGER – Jonathan Cripe reported:
Jonathan Cripe and Mark Jones will meet with the landowner for the aquafer in two weeks.
Changes needing to be made to the sewer usage ordinance were emailed out today. He will provide the final amended ordinance at the December 15, 2025 Council meeting.
The Town will hold the public hearing on the trash rate increase on December 15, 2025.
He submitted the SAM for the Town today.
The Town of Remington was not awarded the Community Crossing Matching Grant this round. The Town may reapply in July of 2026.
He has had discussions with Jasper County about officially changing Carpenter Township to the Eastern Time Zone. The County is supportive, but requests the Town of Remington hold a public meeting on the issue. This public meeting will be scheduled at a later date.
TOWN ATTORNEY – No report.
OLD BUSINESS
Council Member Stewart stated publicly that he is opposed to allowing a sports complex to be built in Remington. He stated he did not understand that the Ten Thousand Dollar ($10,000.00) economic development planning agreement with Baker Tilly was regarding building a sports complex.

CLERK-TREASURER
The 2026 fire contract was presented. No discussion heard. Council Member Schambach made a motion to approve the 2026 fire contract. Vice President Pampel seconded the motion. Motion approved with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
The October 31, 2025 financial analysis was presented and reviewed. Council Member Stewart made a motion to approve the October 31, 2025 financial analysis. Council Member Justice seconded the motion. Motion approved with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
November 2025 Combined Appropriation/Revenue Detail History by Fund Report was presented and reviewed. Council Member Schambach moved to approve the November 2025 Combined Appropriation/Revenue Detail History by Fund Report. Council Member Justice seconded the motion. Motion approved with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
November 2025 Payroll Hours – Detail Report presented. No discussion heard. Vice President Pampel moved to approve the November 2025 Payroll Hours – Detail Report. Council Member Schambach seconded the motion. Motion passed with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
A Financial Consultant Service Agreement from Stanley J. Cook, CPA, LLC was presented. No discussion heard. Council Member Justice moved to approve the Financial Consultant Service Agreement with Stanley J. Cook, CPA, LLC. Council Member Stewart seconded the motion. Motion passed with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Council Member Stewart moved to approve the claims as presented. Vice President Pampel seconded the motion. Motion approved with 5 ayes and 0 nays.
